WORLD MOBILE BROADBAND & ICT SUMMIT 2022

On March 9th, International Data Group in Vietnam (IDG Vietnam) collaborates with the Vietnam Radio and Electronics Association to organize the World Mobile Broadband & ICT Summit 2022.

The conference holds a topic of TELECOMMUNICATIONS INFRASTRUCTURE MODERNIZATION & DIGITAL CONTENT SERVICES TOWARD PROMOTING DIGITAL ECONOMY AND SOCIETY.

World Mobile Broadband Summit 2022 is held under circumstances that the telecommunications industry needs to be developed and promoted to serve as a foundation for the digital economy and society’s development. Regarding the development of telecommunications infrastructure, According to statistics of the Viet Nam Telecommunications Authority (Ministry of Information and Communications), in  2021, Vietnam had 70.9 million mobile broadband subscribers (accounting for 57.23% of the total number of mobile subscribers), increasing 4% compared to 2020; there are 18.79 million fixed broadband Internet subscribers, increased by 14.59%, etc. The Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) of fixed broadband subscribers in 10 months of 2021 was only about 137,000 VND (approximately 6 USD), decreased by 8% compared to 2020 (149,000 VND). In 2022, the Viet Nam Telecommunications Authority (Ministry of Information and Communications) also set a goal of implementing mobile broadband network coverage with speeds above 1Gb to industrial sectors and high-tech zones; 100% of adults have a smartphone; 75% of households have FTTH, 85% mobile broadband subscribers/100 people. However, the completion of broadband telecommunications infrastructure is to connect people and businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic and promote the digital ecosystem on the telecommunications platform. Should communication works effectively, contributing to the strong development of Vietnam’s digital economy, it is not an easy problem to solve for state management agencies, businesses and providers themselves. Faced with that situation, the World Mobile Broadband & ICT Summit 2022 is held to exchange and share management, investment, product development and business methods on high-tech telecommunications platforms. Not only that, the conference promises to provide information on Vietnam’s telecommunications infrastructure development strategy, the potential of 5G and IoT in industrial digital transformation, or opportunities and challenges when developing digital services, commercial services on a high-speed telecommunications platform. The conference includes 01 keynote and 01 high-level panel discussion focusing on modernizing telecommunications infrastructure to promote Vietnam’s digital economy and society.
